8 Reasons to book a Maternity Shoot

Once in a lifetime

This goes without saying - those initial 9 months are going to be life-changing, and once they pass, there's no getting them back. Maternity (more commonly known as "bump") photographs are a way of preserving those memories for you and your children.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to document the beginning of your little one's journey. So many parents I've spoken to regret taking the time to photograph this moment - there was always something else that needed doing; and before they knew it, D-day had arrived!

Document the joy

Most mums don't believe me when I say this, but when they look at their bump, their face changes. You can see the love and adoration written all over their features like a sharpie. I kid you not.
This is an incredible time! A little miracle is growing inside you, and you will shortly have a new addition to your family. You are no doubt excited to welcome your new addition, but are probably very nervous too. Take the time to document all the delights and apprehensions you are having. When you look back on these pictures years from now, all those overwhelming feelings will come flooding back to you.

You're leaving behind a legacy

I say this a lot - whether you realise it or not, you are leaving behind a legacy. One day, your children and grandchildren will want to look back at photos of when you were pregnant. Imagine being able to WOW them with professional stunning portraits!

Your children will thank you

I recently had a conversation with my mum that went like this:

Trust me, your children will thank you.

Every pregnancy is different

Ask any mother - no two pregnancies are exactly the same. Whether this is your first or fourth child, it is worth documenting your family now, as it is, because this is the last time your family will be this size. It’s just going to keep growing. That’s so exciting!

Bonding experience for your older children

For a lot of children, they're not quite sure what to make of this strange "new" Mummy. There is something so special in capturing how children are feeling about becoming a big sister or brother. A photo shoot is an excellent opportunity for them to embrace your bump and "listen" to see if they can hear their little brother/sister saying hello!

See yourself in a different light

99.9% of my maternity clients don't see themselves as others do, so I show them what the rest of us see - a goddess!
You probably have a love hate relationship with that bump, but as crazy as it sounds, one day you will most likely miss it.  Those hormones are working magic - giving you shiny thick hair, sexier curves, fuller lips… You may not necessarily see it yourself but it’s my job to capture it on camera.
Use this opportunity to pamper yourself - get your hair and make up done! This helps you feel more confident in front of the camera.

You'll want to remember the details

Once that baby arrives, everything you remember about your pregnancy will (unsurprisingly) be overshadowed. The minute that your beautiful child is born, you will likely forget what it felt like to be pregnant! And one day, as you watch them walk through those school gates for the first time, there will be a little part of you that wishes they were still in your womb so you could start all over again.
